Yong is also active with the Chamber of Commerce, the Partnership Initiative Committee, the CEO Roundtable and the State Department of Vocational Rehabilitation.
Ronald R. Gilbert, Fenton, Mich., and Wendy Wawrzyniak were married April 2, 2002. Ronald, chair of the National Aquatic Council, is a frequent presenter at various meetings on the topic of aquatic supervision and maintenance of semi-public pools. He is also the author of an article published in the Aquatic Resources Network.
After 23 years with the Kentucky Division of Water, Timothy E. Kuryla Jr. retired in July 2003. He lives in Lexington, Ky.

Jean Swanson Reed, Winter Haven, Fla., has been a volunteer in several local organizations, including the Lakes Education Action Drive and the Winter Haven Federation of Lakes. Retired principal of Cookson Elementary School, Michael L. Beamish, has been sworn in as the new mayor of Troy, Ohio. He has served as past chair of the Strawberry Festival and past president of the Troy Breakfast Optimists Club. Michael, a graduate of Leadership Troy, was a youth sports coach and is very active at St. John’s United Church of Christ.
Robert U. Miller, an owner/broker with RE/MAX Premier Choice, is the Columbus Board of Realtors immediate past president and 2004 “Broker of the Year.” Bob lives in Dublin, Ohio, where he is an active member of the community.

Ohio Lieutenant Governor, Jennette Bradley, recently spoke at the Black Heritage Library and Multicultural Center in Findlay, Ohio. As lieutenant governor, she serves as director of the Ohio Department of Commerce, the governor’s liaison to the Small Business Advisory Council, chair of the Clean Ohio Council and chief policy adviser to the Community Development Division. During its commencement in May 2004, Heidelberg College in Ohio and its Board of Trustees awarded an honorary doctor of humane letters to Jennette.
Christopher C. Colenda III is dean of the Texas A&M University System Health Science Center College of Medicine. He received the American Psychiatric Association “Jack Weinberg Memorial Award for Geriatric Psychiatry” for his special leadership and outstanding work in clinical practice, training and research initiatives in geriatric psychiatry. Christopher serves on the board and as treasurer for the American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry.

Louis, who has taken a leading role in national clinical research involving experimental heart stents in angioplasty and the use of ultrasound to break up blood clots, was ranked as among the best cardiologists in the Great Lakes region last year by Money Magazine.
