Rick A. McAlister, Urbana, Ill., is a singer, songwriter, composer, producer, studio jockey and all around one-man band. In 2002 he received “Honorable Mention” in Billboard’s international songwriting competition for the song “Apologize.” His song, “Superstar,” was recently recognized as “noteworthy” in the American Songwriter Magazine’s songwriting competition. His current CD is Surplus Cheese, and his chamber orchestra work, Short & Suite, will be premiered by the Illini Symphony in 2004.
