The Commons, Wittenberg’s popular dining and gathering spot in the Benham-Pence Student Center, is currently undergoing a major renovation. Work is expected to be completed by Jan. 10.

Commons Receives Major Makeover
From the food area and floors to seating and sound, the new Commons, designed and managed by Sodexho, will provide a more open dining experience for patrons. A circular kiosk housing Jazzman’s Café will now greet guests as will jazz music being pumped through an advanced sound system. Patrons will also enjoy an expanded menu, including Pete’s Arena, which will feature Italian fare, Grill 155, Scoops and Rappz, featuring CyberWraps, among other stops. “We’re really excited about the new look and menu,” said Amie Jones, retail manager for dining services. “We think it reflects what the Wittenberg community wants.” An opening celebration and ribbon-cutting ceremony is being planned as is a possible contest to rename the venue.
