Since the inaugural year of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America’s Fund for Leaders in Mission, Wittenberg has produced three of the 98 program scholarship recipients since 2000.
Mark Huber ’04, of Pataskala, Ohio, was awarded one of 16 full-tuition scholarships, and Dana Hendershot, of Cedar Springs, Mich., received a partial-tuition scholarship to attend seminaries affiliated with the ELCA through the ELCA Fund for Leaders in Mission this year.
Huber is studying for his master of divinity on a full scholarship at Trinity Lutheran Seminary in Columbus, Ohio, while Hendershot is studying for her master of divinity on a partial-tuition scholarship at the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago.
Kevan Penvose ’00, a 2004 graduate of Trinity Lutheran Seminary, was one of the first eight recipients, according to University Pastor Rachel Tune.
