For the second time in Wittenberg Series’ history, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago dazzled onlookers during its performance, Oct. 4, at the Kuss Auditorium, Clark State Performing Arts Center.
Founded in 1977, the group is considered one of the most progressive forces in contemporary dance for its exuberant, athletic and eclectic repertoire.
The event featured 21 dancers at the top of their profession performing such works as “Rooster,” which showcased the dancers’ zesty personalities, and “Kiss,” which the troupe performed while suspended from ropes.
The group has performed on NBC’s Today Show and toured internationally. It has also performed more than 45 world premieres in its 27-year history.
