A member of one of the nation’s most prominent political families, Kennedy discussed “Our Environmental Destiny” in his engaging and energizing address. Credited with leading the fight to protect New York City’s water supply, Kennedy serves as chief prosecuting attorney for Riverkeeper, an organization dedicated to safeguarding the ecological integrity of the Hudson River, its tributaries and the watershed of New York City. Kennedy also serves as senior attorney for the Natural Resources Defense Council and as president of the Waterkeeper Alliance. In addition, he is a clinical professor at Pace University School of Law and a supervising attorney at the Environmental Litigation Clinic in White Plains, N.Y. A graduate of Harvard University and the University of Virginia Law School, Kennedy has recently published two books: Crimes Against Nature and Saint Francis of Assisi: A Life of Joy. He has also published articles in The New York Times, Atlantic Monthly, The Wall Street Journal and the Washington Post.
