Scholarship Created in Memory of Pam Evans Smith ’82
Former Women’s Basketball Head Coach
and Associate Director of Athletics Pam
Evans Smith ’82 had a profound impact
upon the athletes she coached and the
students she taught over an illustrious
Wittenberg career that spanned more
than two decades.
Her legacy will continue to inspire
young people at Wittenberg thanks
to the newly established Pam Evans
Smith ’82 Memorial Scholarship, which
honors the women’s basketball coach
with the most wins and highest winning
percentage in North Coast Athletic
Conference (NCAC) history.
Smith compiled a 401-170 record in
21 years at the helm of her alma mater’s
program. With those 401 wins, Smith
became just the 21st NCAA Division
III women’s basketball coach to win 400
career games.
She also guided the Tigers to eight
NCAA Division III Tournament
appearances, twelve 20-win seasons
and 11 NCAC regular season
championships.
