How do I access my site?
Student organization Web sites are accessed through a shared network drive location. Usually most students will have access from their G drive, but in some cases access maybe be given through any drive letter available on your account. To find the shared drive, open My Computer from any Wittenberg Windows computer review the drives you have available.
What do I have access to?
Through your network drive you have access to a folder on the Web server. This area can host HTML pages, images (jpg, gif, etc), PDF files, etc. Each student is given 15MB of space.
How do I actually create a page?
To create a page you will need to be familiar with an HTML editing program, such as Frontpage or Netscape Editor. Unlike Web sites you may have created in the past on sites such as MySpace or Facebook, there is no built-in editor. When you create pages in an HTML editor you will need to save them to your network drive.
What languages can I use for my pages?
Standard HTML, XML, and Javascript are about it. Student organizations are not given access to programs like PHP, SQL, ASP, etc.
Why can't I get my homepage to display?
You must save your homepage with the file name "index.html". This is the file name that the Web server knows to look for when retrieving your homepage.
