Unlike other universities, here at Wittenberg writing is not the insane-old-aunt-foaming-in-the-attic in the family of the humanities; rather, it’s more the crazed-inbred-cousin-locked-in-the-basement-doubling-as-a-watchdog. So when you need to break into the grim mansion of college bureaucracy, just remember – if nothing else, we advisors at least have bones to use to get past the dogs, and plenty of tortured metaphors besides.

Hi everyone! My name is Jordan and I am in the class of 2009. I’m from Cincinnati, Ohio. I’m a double major in English and theatre, and I have a strong hatred for Gen. Ed. classes. If you want to be my best friend, make me a cake and sing me a pretty song and of course come to visit me all the time in the Writing Center.

When I was told to write a good descriptive personal statement, I suddenly suffered from a serious case of writer’s block.  Maybe if you’re having the same problem, we can sit down and talk ~ I’ll try my best to help.

I’m a happy-go-lucky Aries who loves to smile.  I enjoy hot tea, good movies, being with people I love, long walks on the beach and writing.  You were with me until the last one, right?  Come visit me in the Writing Center—I can’t promise I’ll change your mind, but we can work through your paper together.

It was on the subway, sometime between circumstance and lymph nodes, that I struck up a conversation with a potted plant. He called himself Phil, and I knew we had trouble.

I like sunshine, shooting stars, sushi, and apparently alliteration. Of course, the Writing Center’s not bad either.

Since I was a little girl, writing has always been a passion of mine.  One of my goals as an advisor is to spread that passion on.  I’m always willing to help, and if I can get someone hooked on writing, then I’ve done my job.

WRITING WROXORZ, H8RZ

I’m a 19-year old second year student (not really a sophomore, not really a junior. Basically, I’m too cool to be grouped so easily) who enjoys, among other things: cats; dogs; moonlit walks on deserted beached with famous dead authors; chipotle; days off; long nights; track and field; streaking the Hollow; movies and boardgames on rainy days; a fine, well-aged, oak barrel scotch; and long lists with very little to do with their original subjects.

I’m a pretty laid back person – I like relaxing with an old movie and reading (except for class ☺). I love working with drafts, once the ideas are already on the page, and looking at the little details that could make the writing better.
