International Student Application

International ApplicationThank you for your interest in applying to Wittenberg University. This application is for international students only. Applying online will expedite your application process with NO application fee. All non-U.S. citizens should submit an international student application. All U.S. citizens, dual U.S. citizens, and U.S. permanent residents should submit an application for domestic students.

Additional Requirements for International Admission:

  • Certified copies of original official records/ transcript of secondary and post-secondary school work. All records should be in English. If the language of the records is not in English, a certified literal translation should be included with the original document.
  • Official TOEFL scores of 550 (213 computer-based) or higher, or iBT scores of 79 or higher if your first language is any other than English: You can be exempted from the TOEFL if you score a 600 or higher on the verbal portion of the SAT. We also recognize IELTS scores. To be considered for admission, scores must exceed 6.5. http://www.toefl.org
  • Official SAT I scores to be considered for full-tuition and 3/4 tuition merit based scholarships http://www.ets.org
  • Two letters of recommendation. It is required of the candidate to have all records and letters of reference translated into English. Please note that persons requested to write letters of reference should be requested to send them directly to the Wittenberg Office of Admission.
  • International Student Financial Aid Application. Please note Wittenberg will not be able to process your application until this paper work has been completed and sent in. 

Application Process and Timeline:
Once you have submitted all of the above materials, your application will be reviewed by the admission and scholarship committees. If you are not able to pay Wittenberg tuition and fees you will not be offered admission. You should receive an admission and scholarship decision from Wittenberg within one month of submitting a completed application. If all of the finances and paperwork are in order, we will issue your I-20 or DS-2019 in order for you to obtain your visa to enter the US with your acceptance. You must submit a $500 enrollment deposit by May 1st to secure your place at Wittenberg. After a deposit has been received housing and course registration information will be sent.

Early Action I- December 1, for priority consideration of all scholarships and awards
Early Action II- January 15
Regular Decision- March 15

The Office of International Education is responsible for immigration issues and concerns and orientation programs when you arrive on campus. The Office of International Education coordinates assistance to help ease adjustment to U.S. culture and Wittenberg campus life. This office will be a resource to you prior to and during your time on campus.
