The Leaders Our Children Deserve
Across the nation, schools are challenged today as perhaps never before. Whether in tough urban environments or well-funded suburban schools, teachers face complicated issues that involve socio-economics and family dynamics as well as technology and resources.
Wittenberg’s liberal arts tradition provides unique training that allows Wittenberg teachers to problem-solve and face the most challenging situations with resourcefulness, poise and confidence.  Our teachers learn innovative approaches to teaching and learning, and graduate as broad-thinkers who inevitably rise to be leaders among other teachers.
Without question, transforming Blair Hall into a state-of-
the-art teaching facility will ensure that the education
building of the 1930s not only provides the necessary
technology teachers need, but also the collaborative
learning environment future teachers require as they
prepare to change lives.
And change they do, as evidenced by the following:
Dynamic programs that inspire young people in some of the nation’s most distressed school systems reflect the vision of our education graduates.
At-risk and underprivileged youth are now
considering college, seeing the connection between
mind and body, and developing a love of learning
that will last a lifetime because of Wittenberg-trained
teachers.
Hundreds of students in dozens of local community
schools benefit daily from the innovative thinking and creativity that is infused into the classroom by our student-teachers.
With their field experience in the local schools,
Wittenberg graduates provide much needed assistance to
short-handed districts.
Mentoring programs established by the department give young teachers the support they need to succeed during the critical first few years of teaching.
Alumni of the program serve in districts nationwide, and together they are changing the course of the conversation in education to ensure that our children have the best education possible.
Add to these the 95 percent teacher licensure rate Wittenberg education students enjoy, and an investment in the Wittenberg Education Department Blair Hall Project easily translates into an investment in our children’s future. With your support, the Blair Hall Project will become a model for education innovation with a program that pushes future teachers beyond what is comfortable and into what is important. Your investment will help produce educational leaders of constructive social
change in classrooms across America and around the world.
