With Thanks

My name is Erica Cartharn and I am a persistent visionary. I am extremely disciplined and passionate about my pursuits in life. I am from Crete, Ill., and I am currently a senior at Wittenberg University majoring in business with a concentration in finance. After graduation, my goal is to obtain a position with a financial services organization as a financial analyst.

Attending Wittenberg was a dream I never thought could come true. Over the years here, I have transformed into a better me. Recently I was given the opportunity to work as a phonathon assistant for The Wittenberg Fund. It wasn’t until then that I discovered that because of the gifts of generous donors, I was able to receive the scholarships and aid needed to attend Wittenberg. It is because of these donors that I was able to receive a quality education that has allowed me to become a more disciplined and well-rounded individual. I now have a second place to call home that will forever have a place in my heart. I am beyond grateful for Wittenberg’s generous donors, and I would simply like to say: Thank You.

During this holiday season, The Wittenberg Fund is celebrating and giving thanks to the alumni and friends who have provided the margin of excellence with their gifts to the annual fund. Students are sending thank-you notes, and a special campaign is underway on campus. Sincerest thanks go to those thinking of giving as well. Your generous support helps to ensure our students’ success in countless ways.

The Wittenberg Fund

The Wittenberg Fund provides financial support for virtually every purpose and function of the Wittenberg learning community.  Contributions provide sustaining support for academic, scholarship, cultural and athletic programs; faculty retention and recruitment; campus renewal and beautification; and other department programs and initiatives.

Why Give?

In 1848, just three years into Wittenberg’s existence, President Keller did not have the funds needed to complete Myers Hall’s West Wing. Several students passionate about the University’s ideals started donating money so that Wittenberg’s first building could be completed and the University could remain open.

Giving a charitable gift is an expression of your compassion for others. This expression is a core value of a Wittenberg education. YOU can pass the light of learning onto others. Continue the Wittenberg tradition of giving back!
