“Wittenberg is an excellent opportunity. Not every college provides as many opportunities as Wittenberg. I had the honor of playing on the winningest division III college football team in the country, interning at City Hall (in my hometown), and keeping a close relationship with the president of the university and his son. How many colleges can offer that? Come to Wittenberg because anything you want to do in your four years can come true, and when it is all said and done, finding a job won’t be too hard either!”  – Vinny Harshaw ’12
A native of Springfield, Vinny Harshaw grew up knowing all about Wittenberg’s stellar athletic program and high-quality academic experience. So, when the time came for his own college decision, Wittenberg proved to be the perfect fit.
“I like that at Wittenberg students come from a variety of places,” Harshaw said. It also offered him an opportunity to give back to his hometown.
“I chose to be a political science major and an urban studies minor with the hopes of taking the best of what I’ve learned from my friends and applying it to my hometown -- while also keeping the uniqueness and originality I love.”
Toward the end, Harshaw has been accepted into Security National Bank’s managerial program for marketing in Springfield.
Looking back, Harshaw says his family and friends made him who he is today.
“My family and friends have both inspired me in different ways. My family will always support me no matter what, but I always want them to see the best of me. My friends are always competitive and drive me to do better.”Â
