A MUSICAL WEEKEND AT WITTENBERG

Springfield, Ohio - Four free public weekend concerts will be presented at Wittenberg University April 6-8.

A Faculty Artist Recital featuring Stephen Siek, piano, will be presented at 8 p.m. Friday, in Krieg Hall on campus. The program will include works by Beethoven, Liszt, Schumann and Prokofiev.

The Wittenberg Chamber Orchestra and Miami Valley Symphony Orchestra (MVSO) will present a joint concert at 3 p.m. Saturday in Weaver Chapel. Tom Kennedy, associate professor of music at Wittenberg, conducts both groups. MVSO is a community orchestra based in Dayton. Senior Georgia Petroudi will be the featured piano soloist for Mozart's "Piano Concerto No. 21." Other works will include the first movement of "Symphony No. 8," by Beethoven, Stravinsky's "The Rite of Spring" and selections from "Star Wars: The Phantom Menace" by John Williams.

Soprano Kristen Gleeson will present her senior recital at 8 p.m. Saturday and Greta May, soprano, will give her senior recital at 8 p.m. on Sunday in Krieg Hall.
