WITTENBERG COMMUNITY TO GATHER IN RESPONSE TO TERRORIST ATTACKS

September 11, 2001

Springfield, Ohio - In response to this morning’s terrorist attacks in New York City and Washington D.C. students, staff and facuty will hold an all-campus meeting during the regular Chapel service time at 11:20 a.m. this morning in Weaver Chapel.

Several members of the faculty and student body will offer their reflections, and our campus pastors will be present to lead prayers and hear concerns. President Baird Tipson suspended classes for the rest of the day so that students can follow the unfolding events and discuss them.

Tipson also allowed members of the faculty and staff who needed to be with their families to go home. The chapel will remain available all day and throughout the week for prayer and further conversation.
