WITTENBERG NAMES DIRECTOR OF ALUMNI RELATIONS

Springfield, Ohio - Wittenberg University has named Patricia Benne director of Alumni Relations announced Charles Dominick, vice president for university advancement.

Benne is not new to Wittenberg, she has been with the university since 1975 holding such titles as director of student teachers, adjunct assistant professor in the department of education, academic advisor, student teaching supervisor, and for the past eight years she has held the title of director of teacher placement. She brings a well-established network of friendships and relationships with nearly four decades of alumni to the department of Alumni Relations.

In Benne's new role, she is responsible for developing and implementing a diverse program for Wittenberg alumni which will include planning off campus programs for alumni and parents, promoting alumni attendance and volunteer opportunities. Some of the major campus programs Benne will plan are Alumni Weekend, Homecoming and the Alumni College.

A 1968 graduate of Wittenberg University with a B.S. in elementary education, Benne obtained a M.Ed from the University of Dayton. She is a Praxis trainer for the Ohio State Department of Education. Her family has served as a host family for international students. She has been an adult literacy tutor and she serves as a church council member for Grace Lutheran Church.

Benne, a member of several professional organizations, resides in Springfield with her husband Ken, '68. They have three children who are recent college graduates, Chris, David and Brad.

Wittenberg University has more than 24,000 alumni representing all 50 states and 60 foreign countries. The liberal arts college enjoys the enthusiastic support of alumni, their parents and friends.
