Wittenberg University

The number of science majors on campus has swelled since 1966. Just since 1990 the number of majors has more than doubled so that today one out of every four Wittenberg students with declared majors are studying in the sciences.

Science graduates have gone on to lucrative careers and have excelled in graduate programs. For instance:

• A 1998 study ranked Wittenberg 46th out of 566 colleges nationally for graduates earning Ph.D.s in life sciences.
• The same study ranked Wittenberg 48th out of 637 colleges for graduates earning Ph.D.s in biological sciences.
• The 1998 study ranked Wittenberg 32nd out of 637 colleges for graduates earning Ph.D.s in chemistry.
• In a recent analysis of student-written scientific papers published by the Ohio Academy of Sciences, only Ohio State University produced a larger body of publishable work from Ohio colleges.
