Event Celebrates Women Of Color And Sisterhood

Springfield, Ohio - Janet Caldwell, a vice president at Central State University, will be the featured speaker at a special dinner and presentation from 4-6:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 28 in Hollenbeck Hall on the Wittenberg University campus. Titled "Celebrating Women of Color and Sisterhood," the program is sponsored by Wittenberg's Africana Studies, Concerned Black Students, Global Studies, Woman's Studies and Multicultural Affairs, and is designed to bridge Black History Month and Woman's Month.

Caldwell is vice president for enrollment management at Central State University and former dean of student life and associate dean of multicultural affairs at the University of New Orleans. She has also held similar positions at Johns Hopkins University and The George Washington University. Caldwell earned her bachelor's degree from the District of Columbia Teachers College, master's degrees in adult and continuing education from Columbia University and in English from Howard University, and her Ph.D. from Columbia University.
