Springfield, Ohio - Wittenberg University's Center for Musical Development (CMD) will offer a musical theater workshop this summer for children ages 7 - 15. Under the direction of Marina Jozik, the program seeks to develop vocal skills along with drama and dance.
An information meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m., Monday, June 3 in Krieg Hall, at the corner of Ward St. and Woodlawn Ave. Interested persons will have an opportunity to meet Jozik, who recently moved to Ohio from California where she worked with Circle of Friends Summer Music Camp as director of the summer musical production.
The workshop will meet Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from June 17 - July 10. The time will be arranged at the information meeting. Partial need-based scholarships are available.
Participants will learn proper vocal technique, work on basic dance steps, learn dialogue and create sets and props. An ensemble to perform a collage of drama, dance and voice will be developed during the workshop. A final production will be presented to families and friends.
Jozik will also be available for private voice lessons. For more information, call CMD at (937) 327-7050.
