Commencement Slated For Commencement Hollow Today

May 18, 2002

Springfield, Ohio - Wittenberg's 157th Commencement is expected to be held outdoors in Commencement Hollow this afternoon.

Inclement weather threatened to move the ceremony inside but the decision was made to keep the event in the traditional Commencement Hollow on the south side of campus.

Parents and friends attending the ceremony should arrive at the spectators' area after 12 noon. Please be seated before 1 p.m. to permit the procession of graduates into the hollow.

There is limited bleacher seating and freestanding chairs available. There is also seating available on grassy hillsides of the hollow using your blankets and lawn chairs. Guests are advised to wear low heeled shoes and bring a jacket since the temperature is expected to be unseasonably cool.
