Fall Music Classes To Be Held

Springfield, Ohio - Wittenberg University's Center for Musical Development (CMD) announces fall classes for young children. These classes are designed to give youngsters first lessons in a small group setting.

Beginning Piano for Kids in grades 1-3 will meet eight Tuesdays from 5:15 - 6 p.m. beginning Sept. 24. Students will learn keyboard landmarks, reading music and musical notation and simple pieces.

Beginning Violin for Kids in grades 1-3 will meet eight Wednesdays from 5:30 - 6:15 p.m. beginning Sept. 25. Students will learn to hold the instrument and bow and begin playing folk melodies and harmonies. Parents are encouraged to attend the class so they can work with their child in home practice.

CMD offers private and group instruction in piano, strings, guitar, winds and percussion to students of all ages and levels of playing. Lessons are taught in Krieg Hall on the Wittenberg campus.
