Student Directed One-Act Plays to be Presented at Wittenberg University

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - Seniors in the theatre and dance department at Wittenberg University will direct one-act plays this weekend.

Two plays will be presented at 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5 and Saturday, Dec. 7 in Chakeres Memorial Theatre. They are "Flyboy" by Yvonne Adrian, directed by Chad Moone from Chagrin Falls, Ohio and "Foreplay: The Art of the Fugue" by David Ives, directed by Josh Podvin of West Chester, Ohio.

Two additional one-act plays will be presented at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6 and 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8 in Blair Hall Theatre. They are "Beached" by Bernie DeLeo, directed by Aundrenetta "Paris" Lightner from Columbus, Ohio and "Does This Woman Have a Name?" by Theresa Rebeck, directed by Latifah Hafeez of Springfield, Ohio.

Free tickets are available one hour prior to the performance and the public is invited to attend.

U.S. News and World Report's popular "College Guide" this year ranked Wittenberg as among the top 100 U.S. Liberal Arts Colleges and Universities. "The Insider's Guide to Colleges," published by the Yale Daily News, considers the theatre and dance department to be one of Wittenberg's top three departments.
