Chamber Singers Will Present a Holiday Concert this Weekend

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio -The Wittenberg Chamber Singers will present a free concert of music for the holidays at 4 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 7, in Weaver Chapel on the Wittenberg University campus.

Under the direction of Joyce Wendel, associate professor of music, the program will include music by Felix Mendelssohn, Randall Thompson and George Friedrich Handel. Featured will be "For Unto Us a Child is Born" from the Messiah, and the concert will also include a spiritual and familiar carols.

The Wittenberg Chamber Singers draw membership from Wittenberg students as well as the Springfield community. The 40-member group will travel to South Korea and Japan in the spring, and the singers will participate in the Springfield Symphony Orchestra's presentation of Carl Orff's "Carmina Burana" later this year.
