Annual Fall Dance Concert to be Held at Wittenberg

Nov. 1, 2004

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - Wittenberg University's department of theatre and dance will present its annual Fall Dance Concert at 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, Nov. 4-6, and at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 7, in Chakeres Memorial Theatre, 905 Woodlawn Ave.

Under Artistic Director Shih-Ming Li Chang, the concert will include dances in a variety of styles from lyrical and contemporary to ballet and hip hop.

Nine dances have been choreographed by dedicated and talented students, as well as a piece titled "Mountain" by Chang.

Featured in the program is a multi-media piece titled "Repetizia," which has been developed by guest choreographer Katja Kolcio, assistant professor of dance at Wesleyan University in Connecticut. She is currently working on a book and a series of performances investigating the impact of new technologies on embodied experience. "Repetizia" is the second of these performances.

Tickets are $4 and are available at the Benhan-Pence Student Center Service Desk or at the door one hour before each show. Call (937) 327-6443 to reserve tickets.
