SPRINGFIELD, Ohio — A German language Epiphany service will be held at 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 9, in Weaver Chapel on the Wittenberg University campus. Special music for the service will feature the Wittenberg Handbell Choir under the direction of Trudy Faber, professor of music. Donald Busarow, professor of music, will serve as organist. Pre-service music begins at 7:45 p.m.

German has not been forgotten at Wittenberg. A university with such a name cannot escape the heritage immigrants brought to the Ohio valley. This heritage is recognized by this special service in which the liturgy and preaching are all in German.

The Rev. Stephen Foster, pastor of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in New Carlisle, will conduct the service.

The event is open to the public and Weaver Chapel is accessible without climbing stairs.
