Wittenberg Presents Annual Gabrieli Brass Festival
and Faculty Chamber Trio

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio — A presentation of the Gabrieli Brass Festival XXIV will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 24, in Weaver Chapel on the Wittenberg University campus.

This celebration of the music of Giovanni Gabrieli and other composers for brass instruments is hosted by the Wittenberg Brass Choir, under the direction of Daniel Zehringer, adjunct instructor of music.

Guest ensembles will include the Miami University Trumpet Ensemble, Jim Olcott, director; Cedarville University Brass Choir, Charles Pagnard, director; and Bowling Green State University Low Brass Ensemble, Tim Olt, director.

The program will feature music by J.S. Bach, Gustav Mahler, Tylman Susato, in addition to Gabrieli.

The Faculty Chamber Trio will present a concert at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 23, in Room 300 of Krieg Hall. Performing works by Johannes Brahms and Ludwig van Beethoven, the group features Lesa DeBorde, violin, Richard York, clarinet, Daniel Kazez, violon and cello, and Christopher Durrenberger, piano.
