SPRINGFIELD, Ohio — Hailed as “a fresh, original, powerful voice” by the Boston Globe, famed choreographer Susan Marshall has garnered acclaim and respect from audiences worldwide. At 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, Wittenberg students, faculty, staff and friends will have the opportunity to see her voice in action when Susan Marshall & Company takes the stage during the second Wittenberg Series-sponsored event at Kuss Auditorium, Clark State Performing Arts Center.

Since its founding in 1982, the company has performed more than 30 dance works choreographed by Marshall, whose collaborative approach with the dancers defines her work.

A 2000 recipient of a John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Fellowship, Marshall has received a Dance Magazine Award, a Guggenheim Fellowship and a Brandeis University Creative Arts Citation. She was also one of the first artists to receive the American Choreographer Award.

Susan Marshall & Company has performed in theatres and festivals throughout the United States, Europe and the Far East, and it has received awards from the National Endowment for the Arts annually since 1986.

Tickets are required for admission to this event and are available without charge Monday-Friday during regular business hours at the Benham-Pence Student Center Service Desk (937) 327-7443 and Tuesday-Friday at the Kuss Auditorium Box Office (937) 328-3874.
