Wittenberg University Music Professor’s Work
Will Be Featured In World Premiere Oct. 23

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – The Bach Society of Dayton will begin its fourth season with a world premiere of “A Psalm Triptych,” a commissioned work by Donald A. Busarow, professor of music at Wittenberg University.

The work features chorus, organ, percussion and brass. Busarow and the Carillon Brass will be featured artists during this program at 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23, in the Kettering Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 3939 Stonebridge Road. Busarow will also present a concert preview at 3:15 p.m. A noted composer and organist, Busarow serves as university organist at Wittenberg and directs the Wittenberg Choir and Chapel Choir.

Tickets are $12 for adults and $7 for students and are available by calling (937) 294-BACH or at the door.

At 3 p.m. on that same afternoon, the Wittenberg Symphonic Band, under the direction of Milton Allen, visiting instructor of music, will present a concert in Weaver Chapel on the Wittenberg University campus.

The program will include new music by Rick Kirby and Andrew Boysen, Jr., as well as more familiar band favorites by Elliot Del Borgo and John Philip Sousa. “Dramatic Essay” by Clifton Williams will feature Daniel Zehringer, adjunct instructor of music, as trumpet soloist.

The concert is free and open to the public.
