Wittenberg Guild Hosts 50th Annual Style Show Nov. 5
Nov. 4, 2005
“Each year, more interesting and beautiful baskets are donated by our members and friends for the silent auction,” said Linda Himes, coordinator of The Wittenberg Fund and university liaison for the show. “The show itself has also been a community favorite for years.” Themed “Still Fabulous at 50,” the show will feature local leaders modeling contemporary fall clothing for men, women and children. Kaufmann’s will provide all the clothing, and jewelry from Goldesign, Inc. will complement the models’ outfits. In addition, Lin Erickson, director and CEO of the Westcott House Foundation, will model a 1960s-era dress previously owned by the late Style Show founder Martha Rodgers, Wittenberg class of 1931. A number of other vintage fashions will also be on display. The event will also include a raffle for prizes donated by local businesses, including a romantic dinner for two at Mela Urban Bistro and an overnight stay at the Courtyard by Marriott, a massage and facial from Mallia Salon and Day Spa, and a dragonfly brooch from Goldesign. The Wittenberg Guild will also host a separate raffle on a framed print titled Myers Hollow-Wittenberg University, Summer 2002 painted by local artist Mike Copeland. The show is the largest fund-raising event sponsored by the Wittenberg Guild. Since its founding in 1940, the guild has raised over $800,000 for local student scholarships and various campus projects, including the Ann Miller Art Gallery. Reservations are required and can be made by calling Himes at (937) 327-7432. - Leslie Banas '06 150-05
