Music at Wittenberg Sponsors Two Free Concerts

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio — The Wittenberg University department of music will offer two concerts by university ensembles. Both events are free and open to the public.

The Wittenberg Singers will present its fall concert at 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, in Weaver Chapel. The 60-voice women’s choir, under the direction of Carol J. Todd, adjunct instructor of music, will be featured in a program of traditional and classical selections, accompanied by flutes, trumpet, violin and piano. The concert will also include some holiday selections.

At 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 14, in Room 300 Krieg Hall, the Wittenberg Flute Choir, directed by Lori Akins, and a clarinet quartet, directed by Richard York, adjunct instructor of music, will also present a fall concert. The clarinet quartet will perform works by Mozart and Gabrielsky and the Flute Choir will feature the alto and bass flutes as well as regular flute and piccolo.
