Wittenberg Student-Directed One-Act Plays to be Performed

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - Students from Wittenberg's Department of Theatre and Dance get their chance to shine as several student-directed one-act plays are performed on campus.

The American Dream, directed by Matt Skinner, class of 2006 from Springfield, and Born to Be Blue, directed by Nick Arsena, class of 2007 from Hudson, Ohio, will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, and Saturday, Nov. 19 in Chakeres Memorial Theatre.

At 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30, and Saturday, Dec. 3, The Most Massive Woman Wins, directed by Kristin Tannenbaum, class of 2007 from Lake Jackson, Texas, and The Actor's Nightmare, directed by Judson Lohman, class of 2007 from Saint Paul, Minn., will be performed in Blair Hall Theatre.

12:21 p.m., directed by Kari Strife, class of 2007 from Cincinnati, Ohio, and The Real Inspector Hound, directed by Max Stein, class of 2006 from Mamaroneck, N.Y., will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, and 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4 in Chakeres Memorial Theatre.

The direction of a one-act play is required for the directing course, taken by students who plan to major or minor in theatre at Wittenberg. Actors in the plays represent students from a wide variety of study areas and all class years.

Tickets for all plays are free and will be available one hour prior to the performance in the lobby outside the theatre. For more information call the Department of Theatre and Dance at (937) 327-7464.
