Welcome Week Concert Rocks
Wittenberg University Campus

Aug. 23, 2006

Witroy
SPRINGFIELD, Ohio — Wittenberg University’s New Student Days 2006 are a thing of the past, and the first day of classes has come and gone, but the Welcome Week Concert is still yet to come. The picturesque campus will rock at 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 24, when The Waiting Game and Witroy take the stage in Myers Hollow.

Hailed as alternative rock bands, the up-and-coming Chicago-based acts are similar in style to the All-American Rejects, according to Union Board (UB) President Jonathan Duraj, class of 2009 from Brecksville, Ohio.

Thursday’s concert will be The Waiting Game’s second performance at Wittenberg. The five-member group was the opening act at WittFest last spring, and the band will headline this week’s concert. The Waiting Game has recorded and released a six-song record titled Won’t Make it OK and is currently recording another album.

Witroy’s latest release, Let’s Sew Our Hearts Together, is described on the band’s Web site as “chock full of bittersweet, intelligent rock songs.”

Sponsored by UB, the concert will be the first campus-wide event of the 2006 fall semester.
