The Reduced Shakespeare Company (RSC) is a three-man comedy troupe known for taking long, serious subjects and reducing them to short, sharp comedies. Since its origin as a pass-the-hat act in California, the troupe has created six-stage shows, two television specials and numerous radio pieces. In addition to tours of the United States and Great Britain, the company has performed at the White House, Lincoln Center, the Kennedy Center and London’s West End. The RSC has been seen on all the major American and British television networks and has been heard frequently on both National Public Radio and the British Broadcasting Company.
The RSC has been described by Ed Siegel of the Boston Globe as “verbally dexterous and physically agile. The show darts from satire to silliness to sophisticated irreverence.” The London Sunday Telegraph calls the company “witty and wacky.”
Every year, the Wittenberg Series brings distinguished lecturers and performing artists of national and international prominence to the campus and local community.
