Performers at the 2006 Fall Dance Concert |
The performance is the capstone project for seniors with minors in dance. It will touch on a variety of dance styles, including ballet, jazz, tap, modern and those with an African influence. The students, along with Associate Professors of Theatre and Dance Ligia Pinheiro and Shih-Ming Li Chang, choreographed the dance performances.
While the concert will showcase the talent and hard work of the senior dance minors, it is also a fund-raising event to benefit the Springfield-based Project Woman, which provides support, shelter and resources for victims of domestic abuse. Donations of cash, toiletries or gift cards will be accepted.
Students scheduled to perform in the Faculty Senior Dance Concert include Jessica McClish of Shelby, Ohio; Carolyn Seymour of Dayton, Ohio; Dana Larson of Carmel, Ind.; Emily Walker of Louisville, Ky.; Kristen Scherrer of North Manchester, Ind.; Kari Strife of Cincinnati, Ohio; Renee Uhlmann of Columbia, Md., and Ashley Gerace of Dublin, Ohio.
Tickets are free, but there is a limited number available. All tickets can be picked up one hour prior to the start of each performance.
