Wittenberg Professor Opens Display
Of Artwork In Columbus Gallery

Ed Charney

Springfield, Ohio –
Wittenberg Associate Professor of Art Ed Charney takes his artwork out of the classroom setting for two gallery exhibitions in Columbus, Ohio.

An opening reception will be held at A Muse Gallery from 6–9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7. Sixteen oil paintings of landscapes that feature regional subjects from Charney’s recent summer production will be on exhibit through Oct. 12.

In addition, Charney was selected to display his work in the “East of Eden: Contemporary Ohio Landscape Painters” exhibit, where he has five oil paintings. The exhibit is located in The Schumacher Art Gallery at Capital University. An opening reception for the public will take place from 5-7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7, in the gallery.

Charney, who taught a study abroad course in Rome over the summer, will present a secondary watercolor body of work in the Springfield Museum of Art student gallery in December.

On sabbatical this semester, Charney is working on a variety of projects currently, and he will display his next set of paintings at The Butler Institute of American Art in Salem, Ohio, in January 2008. That display will include paintings from several different areas of his research.
