Wittenberg Hosts Annual Seniors And Faculty Dance Concert

April 18, 2008

Dancers rehearse for the 2007 Fall Dance Concert.
Springfield, Ohio — Wittenberg's annual Seniors and Faculty Dance Concert, a capstone project for seniors with minors in dance, is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, April 25 and 26, and at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 27, in Chakeres Memorial Theatre.

The routines will touch on a variety of dance styles, including ballet, jazz, tap, modern and eclectic, that include many different forms of dance. The students, along with Associate Professors of Theatre and Dance Ligia Pinheiro and Shih-Ming Li Chang, choreographed the dance performances.

Students who choreographed the performances and are scheduled to perform in the Seniors and Faculty Dance Concert include Kim Ingland from Obetz, Ohio; Kelly Juravic from Glenview, Ill.; Jessica McKeller from Oregon, Ohio; Sarah Kennedy from Cincinnati, Ohio; Elissa Ward from Springfield, Ohio; and Kelly Jo Zink from St. Mary's, Ohio.

While the concerts will showcase the talent and hard work of the senior dance minors, donations of cash, toiletries or gift cards will be collected at the door to benefit Springfield's Project Woman, which provides support, shelter and resources for victims of domestic abuse.

Tickets are free and can be picked up one hour prior to the start of each performance.
