Wittenberg Plans Events For Annual
Remembrance Of The Holocaust April 21-24

April 21, 2008

Springfield, Ohio — Wittenberg University has planned several events as part of its annual Remembrance of the Holocaust, which will be observed April 21-24. The 2008 observance at Wittenberg is being held earlier than Yom Hashoah due to the university's exam schedule.

A showing of Europe, Europa, a movie about a Jewish boy's experiences fighting against the Germans before being captured during World War II, is scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday, April 21, in Bayley Auditorium in the Barbara Deer Kuss Science Center.

Felix Garfunkel, father of Rabbi Janice Garfunkel of Springfield's Temple Sholom and a holocaust survivor, will share his experiences at 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, also in Bayley Auditorium.

An interfaith chapel service of remembrance, and a service of prayers and readings is scheduled for 11:20 a.m. Thursday, April 24, in Weaver Chapel.
