Wittenberg University Offers Summer Music Classes

Springfield, Ohio — Wittenberg University’s Center for Musical Development (CMD) is offering summer music classes for children and adults.

Beginning Piano for Kids – Grades 1-3 offers first piano lessons in a small group setting and the opportunity to learn to read music and musical notation, find keyboard landmarks and play rhythms. Students will play music of increasing challenge in Wittenberg’s state-of-the-art piano lab. Classes will meet every Tuesday between July 15 and Aug. 12 from 5:30-6:15 p.m. All classes will meet in Krieg Hall Room 301 with Sharon Koster providing instruction. The cost is $65.

Discovering Music for Children – Ages 3-6 offers young children with an innate curiosity and ability for music a class that is designed to begin the exploration of the world of music. Singing, rhythms, stories, craft projects and an introduction to the sounds and shapes of instruments from the major families are some of the activities planned for the class. Parents are invited to participate in the class sessions. Classes meet every Wednesday between July 16 and Aug. 13 from 5:30-6:15 p.m. All classes will meet in Krieg Hall Room 302 with Sharon Koster providing instruction. The cost is $65.
