Wittenberg Collaborates With The
Springfield News-Sun To Host Political Forum

Springfield, Ohio — Wittenberg University and the Springfield News-Sun will host a political forum, which will offer Clark County residents a first-hand look at candidates in contested races. The forum will take place from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15, in Bayley Auditorium, Barbara Deer Kuss Science Center, 315 Bill Edwards Drive.

Eight contested races are on the ballot, and the candidates invited to appear include: Democrat Sharen Neuhardt and Republican Steve Austria for 7th District Congress; Democrat Richard Spangler and Republican Ross McGregor, 72nd district state representative; Democrat Connie Crockett and Republican Robert Hackett, 84th district state representative; Democrat Roger Tackett and Republican Chris Widener, 10th district state Senate; Democrat David Hartley and Republican Paul Hazlett, county commissioner; Democrat Terrance Gerson and Republican John Burr, county engineer; Democrat James Morgan and Republican Nancy Pence, county recorder; and Democrat Gene Kelly and Republican Vaughn McKenney, sheriff.

Members of the audience will have an opportunity to submit questions to the panel. The moderator for the event is Wittenberg University Professor of Political Science J. Robert Baker.
