Wittenberg Guild Hosts 53rd Annual Scholarship Style Show

Springfield, Ohio — The Wittenberg Guild presents its 53rd annual Scholarship Style Show on Saturday, Nov. 8, at the Center Dining Room in the Benham-Pence Student Center. Chaired by the mother-daughter team of Lorann Rue and Nikki Turner, this year's show, themed "A Stylish Family Affair," begins with a joint social hour and silent basket auction at 10 a.m.

The themed baskets are donated by members and friends of the guild. The brunch and style show begins at 11:30 a.m. Local volunteer models will don clothing from Macy's at Tuttle Crossing and Grissom's Bridal and Tux Shop, complemented with jewelry from Goldesign. Lynn Jacques of Macy's will narrate. "A Stylish Family Affair" features a wide range of models and includes clothing for every body type and age.

The Wittenberg Guild is a women's organization focused on promoting Wittenberg and utilizing its educational resources to enrich the local community, as well as awarding scholarships to students from Clark and surrounding counties who plan to attend the university. Through the years, the organization has raised more than $925,000 for scholarship support, campus landscaping, sculptures and artwork for the student center, renovation of the Ann Miller Gallery in Koch Hall and pianos for Krieg Hall.

This quilt made by Lucille Schmidt Doxey '57 expressly for Wittenberg in the "Ohio Star" pattern will be raffled off at the Wittenberg Guild Style Show.
Prizes, including a gold and Murano glass bracelet from Goldesign, a spa day compliments of Mallia Salon and Day Spa, a crystal lamp compliments of Pemberley and Plum, an evening of entertainment including dinner for two at Seasons Bistro and a winter dance party at the Clark State Performing Arts Center, and a rare P. Buckley Moss Christmas print framed by Frame Haven Gallery, will be raffled off during the event. In addition, a quilt made by Lucille Schmidt Doxey, Wittenberg class of 1957, in the "Ohio Star" pattern will be a part of the raffle.

The cost of the event is $25 and $10 for children under the age of 12. Wittenberg faculty and staff members can attend for the reduced price of $20. Space is limited to the first 250 people who register. To make reservations, contact the Wittenberg Office of University Advancement at (937) 327-7432.
