WittCon, an alcohol-free event that is open to the public, brings together game enthusiasts of all experience levels in a friendly, inviting atmosphere. Larry Wick, creator of WEGS (Wickedly Errant Game System), is the featured guest at this year's event. He will present a seminar about ways to publish a game system, including how to develop a publishing company, at 2 p.m.
Registration begins at noon, and the cost is $5, which includes dinner and registration fees. The first games begin at 1 p.m. and will continue until approximately midnight. This year, the convention is a venue for Worldwide Dungeons and Dragons Gameday.
Other events include "Are You a Werewolf?," "ZOMBIES!!!" a D20 Modern game, "Survival of the Fittest," a Dark Heresy game, and the "Entropy" board game. A representative from Reaper's Miniatures will be on hand again for the very popular free Paint and Take event.
Balloting for a costume contest will take place throughout the convention, with awards to be handed out at dinner. University rules and regulations prohibit weapons as part of the costumes on the premises.
More information on WittCon V is available online or by contacting the Role-Playing Guild via e-mail.
