Wittenberg Alumna Gains Prominent Role In
New Feature Film Ghosts Of Girlfriends Past

May 1, 2009

Cindy Wetzel Lentol '90
Springfield, Ohio — Since graduating from Wittenberg in 1990 with a degree in art, Cindy Wetzel Lentol has done a little bit of everything as a professional actress, model and voice artist. Her latest, and potentially most visible, star turn begins Friday, May 1, with the nationwide opening of the feature film Ghosts of Girlfriends Past.

A production of New Line Cinemas, Ghosts Of Girlfriends Past is a romantic comedy directed by Mark Waters and starring Matthew McConaughey as a fun-loving bachelor and celebrity photographer named Connor Mead. Lentol plays Amy, a stewardess who is one of Mead's many previous love interests.

Ghosts of Girlfriends Past is the latest in a string of major motion picture credits for Lentol. In recent years, she has appeared in Well-Founded Concerns, The Game Plan, The Departed, State and Main and Mona Lisa Smile, working with such renowned actors as Sarah Jessica Parker, Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, Jack Nicholson, Martin Sheen, Julia Roberts and Kirsten Dunst, among many others. In addition, Lentol has had roles in such television shows as the former NBC hit Providence, a recent TNT pilot called Bunker Hill and a recent CBS pilot called Waterfront.

Lentol, a Boston, Mass., resident, has done extensive work in television commercials and print advertisements, promoting everything from donuts to cars to tennis shoes to state lotteries to restaurants to cranberry juice. She has also appeared in numerous industrial films and videos for such companies as Ross Laboratories, General Electric, TD Ameritrade, Value City Department Stores and U.S. Technology.

As if that wasn't enough, Lentol has an extensive list of voice-over work to her credit, doing narration, characters and comedy.

Ghosts of Girlfriends Past is rated PG-13. Locally, the film can be seen at Chakeres Cinema 10 in Springfield, Showcase Cinemas in Huber Heights, Regal Hollywood 20 at Fairfield Commons in Beavercreek, and Cinema De Lux 14: The Greene, also in Beavercreek.
