Andy Shively
Men's Lacrosse (4/28/08 - NCAC): In his first start of the season, Wittenberg senior Andy Shively (Columbus,
OH/Upper Arlington) made seven fourth-quarter saves and totaled 14 in his team's 11-10 defeat of Wooster. Three of those saves came in the final minute as the Tigers were fending off a power play. Tim Antil
Baseball (4/21/08 - NCAC): Wittenberg junior Tim Antil (Brookville, OH/Northmont) downed Wabash with a complete-game 5-0 shutout, allowing three hits, one walk and striking out four in his only appearance on the week. Click here to read more about 2008 NCAC Baseball Players of the Week. |

Rachael Hatcher
Softball (3/31/08 - NCAC): Wittenberg junior Rachael Hatcher (West Carrollton, Ohio/West Carrollton) threw a complete-game, 5-3 victory over Transylvania with seven strikeouts, and also smashed a two-run homerun. She pitched another complete-game victory, 4-1 over Case. Hatcher posted another seven strikeouts in that contest. For the week, she pitched 14.0 innings, allowed 13 hits, 2 runs (both earned), walked three and struck out 14. Wittenberg went 8-0 last week to improve to 14-6 overall. Sarah Fetters
Softball (3/24/08 - NCAC): Wittenberg senior shortstop Sarah Fetters (Woodhaven, MI/Maumee, OH) smashed her first career grand slam in the third inning of an 8-2 victory over Baldwin-Wallace in the Tigers' home-opener. For the week, Fetters went 2-for-5 (.400) with a run scored, four RBI, two walks and five assists. The Tigers dropped the nightcap, 11-2. Erik Larkin
Men's Track and Field (2/17/08 - NCAC): Erik Larkin (Cincinnati, OH/Country Day) led Wittenberg to a seventh-place team finish at the All-Ohio Championships. He won the triple

Carrie Dyer
Women's Basketball (2/10/08 - NCAC): Sophomore guard Carrie Dyer (Copley, OH/Copley) helped Wittenberg to a 2-1 week. She posted 13 points, seven rebounds and three assists in a 73-60 loss to Kenyon and then dropped in 22 points, a career-best by eight points, and five rebounds and two steals in a 76-75 win over Allegheny. Dyer closed out her week with 18 points, eight boards and five assists in an 86-63 win over Hiram. She finished the week with 53 points, 20 boards, eight assists and two steals in the three games. Brandan Barabino
Men's Basketball (1/20/08 - NCAC): Wittenberg's Brandan Barabino, a 6-4 senior wing, converted three free throws to lift Wittenberg into a tie with Wooster and send their game for first place in the NCAC into overtime. Barabino had missed two charity shots earlier in the contest, but redeemed himself in a big way when he was fouled in the act of shooting from behind the three-point arc with just one second left on the clock and the Tigers down by three. He made all three of the resulting free throws to send the game into the extra session; Wittenberg won 87-86. Barabino scored a career-high 26 points in the game and added eight rebounds and five assists. He finished the week with 35 points and 16 boards. Victoria Leali
Women's Basketball (12/10/07 - NCAC): Wittenberg's Victoria Leali (Jackson, Ohio/Jackson), a 5-5, sophomore guard, scored a career-high 19 points to lead the Tigers to an 81-73 win over preseason favorite Denison in the NCAC opener for both teams. Leali added two rebounds, two assists and a steal in her 31 minutes of action. She was a perfect 4-for-4 from three-point territory, and made her only free throw attempt. Lindsey Penrod
Volleyball (11/4/07 - NCAC): Wittenberg senior outside hitter Lindsey Penrod (Rocky River, Ohio/Magnificat) was named NCAC Tournament MVP for her stellar play in the two rounds of the conference tournament at Wittenberg. In the final - a 3-0 win over Hiram - Penrod pounded 10 kills and had just one error in 20 attack attempts for a .450 attack percentage. Click here to read more about 2007 NCAC Tournament. |

Suzanne Medwid
Women's Soccer (11/4/07 - NCAC): Wittenberg junior Suzanne Medwid (Columbus, Ohio/Upper Arlington) scored the game-winner 1:29 into the overtime session to

Ben Koester
Football (11/4/07 - NCAC): Wittenberg freshman linebacker Ben Koester (Fort Thomas, Ky./Highlands) set up a first quarter touchdown with an interception in his team’s 17-6 defeat of Allegheny. Tori Casanta
Field Hockey (10/30/07 - Womens Field Hockey.com): Tori Casanta is named national Rookie of the Week after scoring the only two goals for Wittenberg on the week, which were game-winners that propelled the Tigers to the top seed in the NCAC Tournament. Click here to learn more. |

Liana Began
Field Hockey (10/21/07 - NCAC): Wittenberg freshman goalkeeper Liana Began (Hudson, Ohio/Hudson) made her fifth and sixth career starts last week and wound up with a pair of 2-1 victories. Against Denison, she made nine saves and in an overtime win over Wooster, she made six more to total 15 saves on the week. Brad McKinley
Football (10/21/07 - NCAC): Wittenberg freshman linebacker Brad McKinley (Hilliard, Ohio/Davidson) was a hero in the late minutes of the Tigers' game against Ohio Wesleyan. He stopped a Battling Bishop drive with an interception on the OWU 46-yard line and returned it 37 yards to clinch the Tigers' 21-61 victory. Meghan O'Rourke
Women's Soccer (10/14/07 - NCAC): Wittenberg goalkeeper Meghan O’Rourke (Columbus, Ohio/Worthington Kilbourne) tied, and then broke, the NCAC career shutout record with her 41st and 42nd, leading the Tigers to a pair of wins over Denison, 2-0, and Oberlin, 1-0 in overtime. She made four saves in each game, including stopping a Yeowoman breakaway in the extra session, which allowed her team the chance to score the game-winner. Boo Vernon
Field Hockey (10/14/07 - NCAC): Wittenberg freshman Boo Vernon (Lake Bluff, Ill./Cushing Academy) continued to show off her scoring ability, putting away the game-winning goal in the Tigers' overtime decision against Denison. It was her second goal of the game as the Tigers won, 4-3. Wittenberg also lost to Oberlin last week, 1-0. Vernon leads the Tigers with 16 goals and 34 points this season. Jan Kehres
Volleyball (10/1/07 - AVCA): Jan Kehres, a senior outside hitter for then-No. 2 Wittenberg, has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Division III National Player of the Week after leading her team to three wins last week, including two over nationally-ranked opponents. Jackie Williams
Volleyball (9/10/07 - AVCA): Jackie Williams, a junior right-side hitter for No. 2 Wittenberg University, has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Division III National Player of the Week. She earned the award after helping lead the Tigers to an undefeated weekend at the Washington University (Mo.) Invitational, where the team defeated four teams, three of them nationally ranked in the CSTV/AVCA Division III Coaches Top 25 Poll. Jackie Williams
Volleyball (9/9/07 - NCAC): Wittenberg junior outside hitter Jackie Williams (Rocky River, Ohio/Magnificat) was named to the all-tournament team at the Washington National Invitational. Williams pounded out 56 kills on a .475 attack percentage, to go with 14 digs and 11 total blocks as the Tigers won the tournament with a 4-0 record. Three of the victories came over nationallly ranked foes: #4 Washington (MO), #12 Concordia Moorhead and #15 Ohio Northern. The Tigers also defeated Central (IA). Ben McAnnis-Entenman
Men's Soccer (9/9/07 - NCAC): Against DePauw, Wittenberg senior goalkeeper Ben McAnnis-Entenman (Portland, Ore./Cleveland) left the net to travel up field for a corner kick and tied the game after connecting on a header with 1:50 left in regulation. The game was then called early in the overtime period due to lightning and the teams settled for a 1-1 tie. McAnnis-Entenman ended the game with seven saves, and the goal. Brad McKinley
Football (9/4/07 - NCAC): Wittenberg freshman linebacker Brad McKinley (Hilliard, Ohio/Davidson) led all players with 15 total tackles in the Tigers' 13-0 loss to Capital. Matt Borland
Men's Soccer (9/4/07 - NCAC): Wittenberg junior midfielder Matt Borland (Kettering, Ohio/Alter) earned MVP status after leading the Tigers to their first Wittenberg Invitational title since 1993. Borland notched two goals, including the game-winner, in a 3-1 win over Tri-State and directed the offense to a 2-0 win over Otterbein, which had won four of the last five Wittenberg Invitational crowns.
