Tigers Hit Hard in Loss to Urbana

A 4-4 game at the midway point broke open with the Knights scoring five runs in the sixth and seventh innings, part of an evening where they pounded out 16 hits against Tiger pitching. The top of the order did most of the work for the homestanding Tigers, but a combined eight hits amongst the top three hitters would not be enough. Senior Patrick Williams (Plainfield, Ind./Plainfield) and sophomore Ray Noe (Dublin, Ohio/Jerome) did their damage with the aluminum, collecting three hits apiece.
In late relief, junior Darin Mumaw (Fort Loramie, Ohio/Fort Loramie) and sophomore Manny Rodriguez (Lawrenceville, Ga./Central Gwinnett) swept through their innings to keep the Tigers in the game. In the end, however, nine stranded runners kept the lid on any offensive explosions for the Red & White.
A lengthy layoff awaits as the Tigers gear up for a Wednesday, April 15 meeting with nationally ranked Marietta from Carleton Davison Stadium.
