The CHEERLEADING SQUAD is an integral part of the athletic experience at Wittenberg. The football and basketball squads are comprised of both men and women and are selected once a year following a week of instruction and tryouts in the spring. In July, a middle-school camp is hosted by the squads as an annual fundraiser. Each August, cheerleaders attend a competition camp, including one in 2003 at the University of Michigan at which the Tigers won several awards. Both squads have a regular practice schedules and cheer at all home games and selected away games. Click here to view the squad's Web site.

The ICE HOCKEY CLUB TEAM recruits individuals of all abilities to play exciting, fast-paced and hard-hitting hockey. The season begins in October and concludes in early March. Practices and games take place at Hara Arena in Dayton. Past seasons have consisted of approximately three to five home games and three to five away games. Travel for away games is limited to Ohio and such neighboring states as Kentucky. The team has faced tough competition from teams around the region, including those representing Wright State, Denison, Kenyon, Ohio Wesleyan and Eastern Kentucky University. Players are responsible for their own equipment.
The MARTIAL ARTS CLUB was founded in the fall of 1996. The purpose of the club is to teach the traditions and philosophy of the martial arts and of the particular style in which instruction is provided, and to teach self-defense techniques. During recent years, Akido, Tae-Kwon-Do and Judo have been the areas of concentration. There is an average of three belt promotions per year with the opportunity for an individual to "double-promote" and potentially advance six belts in one year.
The OUTDOOR CLUB is a service organization providing a variety of exciting outdoor activities. The Outdoor Club can help fulfill your desire for adventure. We are always looking for new ideas to accommodate everyone's quest for adventure.

The MEN'S VOLLEYBALL CLUB hosts one home tournament every year in February and competes on the weekends from January to March. Tryouts for the club are held in the fall with practices held three days per week for two hours. Most of the competitions for the club are held in tournament format with several teams competing in pool play, followed by tournament play. The structure of these tournaments allows the opportunity for the club to continue to improve its skills through the season and compete weekly, possibly facing teams more than once a season.
