Bob Rosencrans Fitness Center at the Athletics Hall of Honor

The Bob Rosencrans Fitness Center at the Athletics Hall of Honor opened in August 2005. It continues Wittenberg's long-standing commitment to health and well-being for all in the university community by providing state-of-the-art aerobic exercise equipment, including treadmills, stationary bikes and rowing machines. A modern training and sports medicine facility is also located in the fitness center.

Edwards-Maurer Field and Earl F. Morris Track

Renovations to the Earl F. Morris Track and Edwards-Maurer Field, which also included improvements to the Hoyt-Sullivan Pressbox atop the stands on the west side of the complex, were completed in August 2005. The track received a Recotan Track surface, replacing a surface put down in 1993. Edwards-Maurer Field was re-surfaced with 2-1/4 inch blades of artificial grass with granular sand and rubber in-fill.

Heinzen Strength Center

The newly renovated Heinzen Strength Center is the perfect compliment to the Bob Rosencrans Fitness Center at the Athletics Hall of Honor. Previously, the strength center combined aerobics equipment with strength-training equipment, but the new addition allows for two separate facilities. State-of-the-art Hammer Strength lifting equipment has been introduced throughout the Heinzen Strength Center, which also has new flooring and numerous aesthetic improvements.

The Arena

The Health, Physical Education, and Recreation Center, opened in 1982, is the centerpiece of athletic activity. The main unit can be used as three full-sized basketball courts, three volleyball courts, or three tennis courts. It seats 3,000 spectators for intercollegiate athletic events or 4,300 for concerts, convocations, and other public events.

Natatorium

A second unit of the HPER Center houses six racquetball courts with an upper balcony for instruction and the HPER Center Natatorium 25-meter by 25-yard swimming pool with one- and three-meter diving boards, a spectator viewing area, and Colorado timing system for competition. An athletic training room, locker rooms and team rooms are also located in the HPERC.

Carleton Davidson Stadium

Two miles from campus, Carleton Davidson Stadium is the home of Tiger baseball; the stadium is owned and maintained by the City of Springfield and was renovated in the last year. It is one of the finest NCAA Division III baseball facilities in the nation.

Betty Doughman Dillahunt Field

Betty Doughman Dillahunt Field is home to the Tiger softball team. The softball field is equipped with cement dugouts and an electronic scoreboard, and new in 2005 is fencing around the entire field.

David and Georgianna Albright Tennis Complex

The David and Georgianna Albright Tennis Complex includes 12 hardcourts, six of which are lighted with a state-of-art playing surface. It is on of the finest facilities of its kind in Ohio or anywhere in NCAA Division III.
