November 2, 1999-- (10-9, 6-6 NCAC)

The Tigers finished their 1999 season on a positive note winning both contests in the annual NCAC/KIT Tournament held last weekend. Wittenberg defeated Centre 3-1 in the first round and then went on to defeat conference opponent Ohio Wesleyan 5-4.

Leading the team in scoring in the weekend tournament was junior Kacy Heinmiller (Bexley, Ohio/Bexley) with four goals in the two games. Freshman Emily Duh (Hellertown, Pa./Saucon Valley) recorded two goals and two assists for the Tigers in the victories, and sophomore Ashley Hulsewede (Louisville, Ky./Sacred Heart) had one goal and two assists.

Leading the team in scoring for the 1999 season was Heinmiller with 11 goals and three assists, averaging1.32 points per game. She finished sixth in the conference in scoring. Hulsewede averaged 1.00 point a game for the Tigers and was the team's second leading scorer.

Sophomore goalkeeper Georgina Klinzing (Gasport, N.Y./Royalton-Hartland) recorded five shutouts for the Tigers this season and finished the year with a .841 save percentage.

Under the direction of first year head coach Grace Caravaggio, Wittenberg continued its string of 18 consecutive winning seasons.



October 26, 1999-- (8-9, 6-6 NCAC)

The Tigers faced their last two regular season opponents last week and began preparing for the conference tournament this weekend. Wittenberg fell in both games last week 4-0 against nationally ranked DePauw and 2-1 to Nazareth (N.Y.) to finish the regular season with an 8-9 overall mark.

Junior Kacy Heinmiller (Bexley, Ohio/Bexley) scored the lone Tiger goal of the week with an assist by freshman Emily Duh (Hellertown, Pa./Saucon Valley). Heinmiller is seventh in the conference in scoring with 1.0 point per game. Sophomore Ashley Huslewede (Louisville, Ky./Sacred Heart) is the team's second leading scorer with 15 points on the season.

Sophomore goalkeeper Georgina Klinzing (Gasport, N.Y./Royalton-Hartland) has recorded five shutouts and has a .840 save percentage this season.

The Tigers travel to Oberlin this weekend for the NCAC/KIT Tournament on Saturday and Sunday.



October 18, 1999-- (8-7, 6-6 NCAC)

In action last week the Tigers competed against their last conference opponent when they visited Denison and fell 3-0. Wittenberg finished its conference schedule with an even 6-6 mark on the season. The Tigers finished the week posting two victories during their fall break trip when they defeated Bellarmine 2-1 and Centre 1-0 in overtime.

Against Bellarmine, sophomore Ashley Huslewede (Louisville, Ky./Sacred Heart) and junior Kacy Heinmiller (Bexley, Ohio/Bexley) each scored for the Tigers with an assist by junior Kati Robbins (Collegeville, Pa./Methacton). Hulsewede is fifth in the conference in scoring with 1.07 points per game while Heinmiller is the Tigers' second leading scorer with 1.00 point per game.

Freshman Emily Duh (Hellertown, Pa./Saucon Valley) recorded the second goal of her career for the Tigers in the overtime win against Centre. Hulsewede added the assist for the Tigers.

Sophomore goalkeeper Georgina Klinzing (Gasport, N.Y./Royalton-Hartland) has recorded five shutouts and has a .857 save percentage this season.

The Tigers finish their regular season schedule this week when they travel to DePauw on Tuesday and host Nazareth (N.Y.) on Friday.



October 12, 1999-- (6-6, 6-5 NCAC)

With two more conference wins in last week's action, the Tigers have improved to a winning NCAC mark, but will face their toughest competition in top-ranked Denison this Tuesday.

Last week, Wittenberg recorded its first overtime victory with a 1-0 win over Oberlin after defeating Earlham 4-1 earlier in the week.

In the win against Earlham, sophomore Ashley Huslewede (Louisville, Ky./Sacred Heart) knocked in two goals to lead the Tigers and junior Kacy Heinmiller (Bexley, Ohio/Bexley) and freshman Sara O'Donnell (Pickerington, Ohio/Hartley) recorded the other two goals. Junior Kati Robbins (Collegeville, Pa./Methacton) recorded the goal on a penalty shot in the overtime victory against Oberlin.

Leading the Tigers in scoring are Hulsewede and Heinmiller each with five goals and three assists. They are tied for eighth in the conference in scoring.

Sophomore goalkeeper Georgina Klinzing (Gasport, N.Y./Royalton-Hartland) has recorded four shutouts and has a .851 save percentage this season.

The Tigers close out the week with a non-conference trip to Bellarmine on Saturday and Centre on Sunday.



October 4, 1999-- (4-6, 4-5 NCAC) The Tigers split action last week defeating Ohio Wesleyan 3-1 and then falling to Wooster in overtime 1-0 during the annual Parents Weekend. In the win against Ohio Wesleyan, three players scored goals against the Bishops with junior Tori Parisi (Kettering, Ohio/Fairmont) and freshman Sara O'Donnell (Pickerington, Ohio/Hartley) each recording one goal and one assist. Sophomore Ashley Huslewede (Louisville, Ky./Sacred Heart) netted the final goal for the Tigers.

Junior Kacy Heinmiller (Bexley, Ohio/Bexley) is the team's leading scorer with 11 points and is sixth in the conference in scoring. Sophomore goalkeeper Georgina Klinzing (Gasport, N.Y./Royalton-Hartland) has recorded three shutouts and has a .854 save percentage this season.

Wittenberg travels to Earlham on Wednesday and then hosts Oberlin on Friday night. Earlier this season, the Tigers defeated Earlham 1-0 but lost to Oberlin 2-1 in overtime.



September 28, 1999-- (3-5, 3-4 NCAC) The Tigers opened up the week with two more in the victory column, posting wins over conference opponents Earlham 1-0 and Kenyon 2-0, before falling to non-conference opponent Indiana University of Pennsylvania 5-0.

Junior Kacy Heinmiller(Bexley, Ohio/Bexley) recorded two goals for the week in games against Earlham and Kenyon, and junior Kati Robbins (Collegeville, Pa./Methacton) recorded her first goal of the season against Kenyon. Heinmiller is tied for third in the NCAC in scoring with 1.38 points per game, and sophomore Kate McAnulty(Loiuisville, Ky./Ballard) is sixth with 1.13 points per game.

This week the Tigers see weekend action when they host third place Ohio Wesleyan on Friday night and second place Wooster on Sunday afternoon.



September 20, 1999-- (1-4, 1-4 NCAC) Wittenberg opened the season with overtime losses to Ohio Wesleyan, Oberlin and Denison but found their first win of the season with a 5-0 victory over Kenyon. They fell again in overtime 4-3 to Wooster. Sophomore Kate McAnulty(Loiuisville, Ky./Ballard) scored three of the Tiger goals in the win over Kenyon and added a fourt goal against Wooster. She is leading the conference in scoring with 1.8 points per game

Junior Kacy Heinmiller(Bexley, Ohio/Bexley) is fifth in the NCAC in scoring with 1.4 points per game after recording two goals and three assists for the Tigers.

Sophomore goalkeeperGeorgina Klinzing(Gasport, N.Y./Royalton-Hartland)has recorded 51 saves in her first five games with a .823 save percentage.

This week the Tigers host Earlham in another conference game on Wednesday before taking a two day roadtrip when they travel to Kenyon on Friday and IUP on Saturday
