Intramural Emergency Procedures

The number one priority is to immediately evaluate whether this is a life threatening injury:
- Neck or back injury - Do not move the person!!
- Arterial bleeding - apply pressure to the area and to the pressure points; do not remove bandages; keep adding over the area
- Shock - keep person calm; if the face is pale, raise the tail, if the face is red, raise the head
- Heart attack - Begin CPR if necessary
- Not breathing - Begin artificial respiration
- Compound fracture - Do not move the limb or person!
In the event of a life threatening injury, you must immediately call 911 - tell them your location and the accident. There are always enough people working that at least one person stays with the injured person and another makes the phone call.
We only supply emergency first aid; in the event of a sprained ankle, cut over the eye, or something minor, we always recommend the student seek medical attention from health services or at the emergency room.
For all injuries that will require medical attention you must call security: 327-MAD1. They will come and file a report.
You must also file a report on the bottom of the scoresheet.
We do not provide adhesive bandages, tape, aspirin, etc.
We do provide ice at all sites!!
Location of the phone at all sites:
- Bill Edwards Field - In the brown building in the cage and in the training room. The address is McCreight Ave. at Yellow Springs St.
- Stadium Turf - At the fifty yard line close to the stands; we must take this out and set it up each night. The address is Bill Edwards Dr. at Woodlawn Ave.
- Sand Volleyball Court - On the post just past the court and at the front door of Firestine Hall. The address is Woodlawn Ave. at West Cassilly.
- HPERC - At the front desk in the lobby. The address is 210 Bill Edwards Dr.
