The Tigers dropped to 4-6 overall and 0-3 in the rugged NCAC, heading into Wednesday's game at preseason conference favorite Ohio Wesleyan. Kenyon improved to 8-2 overall and 1-1 in the NCAC.
Wittenberg took a 2-1 lead in the first quarter goals by senior Cory Windle and junior Brandon Schwind, and the Tigers continued to battle well through halftime. But after finishing the opening 30 minutes tied at 3-3, the Tigers were unable to muster any offense in the second half as the Lords scored the final seven goals of the game.
Sophomore Ross Holland had Wittenberg's third goal of the game and sophomore Brandon Hulett had the game's lone Tiger assist.
Wittenberg actually was credited with more shots than Kenyon in the game, 25-24, but Kenyon picked up 14 saves, compared to eight by the Tiger tandem of sophomore Andy Shively and junior Pat Garlock.
