Early Deficit Too Much for Traveling Tigers
|
Mark DeOliveira
|
Sophomore netminder Mark DeOliveira (East Hanover, NJ/East Hanover) held his own in the net on a night where he faced 35 shots. Seven saves kept the Big Red at bay, but the offense could never find a rhythm against the stingy Denison defense.
Sophomore attacker Matt Snider (Cookeville, Tenn./Cookeville) opened the scoring slate for the Red and White in the second period, one of two notches for Snider on the night. One of the key factors of the night - draw controls - hurt the Tiger cause. Denison controlled 18 of the 19 faceoffs en route to possession control.
The conference opening loss also drops the Tigers to 4-2, as the lengthy road swing continues into Michigan, where the Tigers face Adrian College Saturday, March 28 at 1 p.m.
